Islamophobia threatens Muslims in the United States

WASHINGTON (Arrahmah.com) - A wave of Islamophobia in the United States recently has become a major concern for Muslims in the land of Uncle Sam in the midst of reports of human rights violations against Muslims, including arrests, detentions, and illegal violence, PressTV reported.

Carnegie Endowment for International Peace recently to create a forum that discusses such concerns in Washington DC. On that occasion, Professor John Esposito of Georgetown University stated, "... It is very difficult for a Muslim accused in our communities to get a fair trial."

One such case occurred in Dr. Sami Al-Arian, a professor at the University of South Florida who was accused of having links with the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, a group who entered the U.S. list of terror groups Seriakt.

In 2003, Dr. Al-Arian was arrested and then detained in a solitary confinement for 43 months after the trial. Then in 2005, the Florida judge released him from 8 cases and still hang his sentence on two other cases. He has actually released in 2008 with the status of house arrest.

He spent 25 months to wait for the certainty case.

His wife, Nahla Al-Arian said, "The Muslim community is becoming the target of the attack. And this is also an impact on our children, in our everyday lives. And I do not know when this terrible thing will end."

Dr. Case. Sami Al-Arian is just one of many cases of violence against Muslims in the United States. According to some analysts, the steady increase in Islamophobia, the Muslim rights will continue to be threatened.

"Islamophobia" is a sham. It suggests a lack of basis for negative sentiment many Americans have toward Islam and Muslims. Of course, the term, as such, ignores 9/11, the Hassan Massacre, the "Shoe," "Panty", and Times Square terrorists, the numerous thwarted attempts at attacking subways in the US and the LA Airport, threats of violence and to world peace if a Koran is burned, and continuing threats and attempts my Muslims to bring down airplanes (cargo or passenger).
Meanwhile, Muslims continue to live good lives here. At least, that's the viewpoint of Park51 Imam Rauf. He said as much in an interview on ABC with Christiane Amanpour. He said the rest of the world has it wrong when it believes Muslims in America are prevented from practicing their religion freely. He said the laws in the US protect them.
    Which is true.
Statistics that show "a spike" in discrimination complaints, looked at on a national level, are trivial. Jews and Gays in the US continue to suffer more such discrimination than anything Muslims are experiencing in America. Given all that has happened, one might (from a foreigner's perspective) be surprised at the total LACK of agression and violence perpetrated against Muslims in America.
No, Islamophobia in America doesn't exist. Anyone who uses the term the way Syariah's article does is either ignorant or deliberately attempting to deceive.
