500 Most Influential Muslims in The World 2010

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, AMMAN - For the second time, The Royal Islamic Strategic Studies Center in Amman, Jordan, issued a list of 500 most influential Muslim figures in the world 2010. Study Center worked together with the Center for Muslim-Christian Understanding Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal at Georgetown University, USA.

The first edition was launched in 2009 dbegitu popular because digital versions of books have been downloaded more than 150 thousand times. For the first position of the most influential Muslim figures, 2009 and 2010 is still occupied by the King of Saudi Arabia, Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz al Saud. Meanwhile, Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan Reccep ranked second last year only at the fifth rank.

To issue this year there are big changes for preparing a list of the most influential Muslim figures this. When years ago, the figure is considered under-represented Musliman and made separate entries, but this time there was no such gender segregation. Muslim leaders are ranked along with the male figure. The separation is made only by category or field of expertise, such as scientific, media, youth, and arts and culture.

Apart from the two Muslim leader, Islamtoday.net, did not name the other figures included in the list. The site is then only displays the name of Sheikh Salman al-Oadah, a scholar and educator from Saudi Arabia who is ranked 19. Sheikh Salman is considered as an innovative leader in the Islamic world in spreading syiar by utilizing information technology development.

''His work has broad influence in the present when the religion spread by the media and technology, with its leading Islamic Today.net as a guard.''

When Al-Azhar Fatwa Committee condemned the use of Facebook, Sheikh Salman would defend these social networking sites. He admitted using up to communicate with Muslims around the world and provide Islamic guidance online.

The entry of Sheikh Salman's on that list are considered describes herself as an 'Innovative Educators'. He also vigorously spread the love and affection for the fight against various acts of violence in everyday life of Muslims.

This influential Muslim figures appear to be most of the countries in the Middle East region and beyond. So, is there a figure from Indonesia, which entered the list?
