Iran Ready to realize the aspiration of The Muslimah
Officials at the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ali-Akbar Salehi expressed Tehran's readiness to help realize the aspirations of Muslim women. He issued a statement in a speech at the closing ceremony of the third ministerial meeting of Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) on women's affairs.
Three-day meeting was held in the Iranian capital, Tehran, attended by delegates from a number of OIC member countries including Lebanon, Egypt, Sudan, Syria, Somalia, Maladea, Mali, Malaysia, Pakistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, the Republic of Azerbaijan and Bangladesh . The participants of the meeting discussed the very large role played by women in the Muslim community and further increase constructive participation of women in various cultural activities, political, economic and social.
"Iranian Foreign Ministry and institutions under it is ready to work with elite women in Islamic countries," Salehi said. He added, improving women's status in society is one of the main targets of the Islamic Revolution in Iran. Salehi, who condemned the way women are treated in the West, said Western societies try lowering the role of women in various fields, especially in science and technology. When stressed morality is the basis for the presence of women in Islamic society, Salehi expressed hope that the Muslim will further enhance their status and also increase their cooperation with other women in society.
