Rashid Muhammad said that it was unlikely he would miss the Celebration and Awards Dinner "A Time to be Grateful" from the Muslim Journal, despite the heavy weather between events in Louisville and his home in Baltimore, Maryland.

He also wanted to share these celebrations message, emphasizing the theme, "A Time to be Grateful" (A time for Thanks).
"As Christians and Jews see this as a thankful season, Muslims, too, wanted to show their gratitude for the blessings from God," he said.
Lt. Col. Abdul-Rasheed Muhammad said that he was leaving time to come to dinner because Ali was a friend.
"I want to honor him for all his hard work. He is a role model for everybody," he menagtakan.
D. Shahid Abdul-Karim, director of marketing and special events Muslim Journal, said he was pleased to give tribute to native son of Louisville and the "champion of the people".
"We are pleased that the entire city of Louisville has embraced our presence, which memperbolehhkan us to share our weekend pulpit room with people from all paths of life," said Karim.
More than a dozen people from Louisville and around the country also received awards. Star Olympic sprinter Carl Lewis received the award "Recognized Athletes World" and Republican U.S. blikan John Yarmuth received "good governance". Neither Lewis nor Yarmuth, attended the event.
Muhammad Ali Center awarded the "Cultural Heritage".
Abraham B. Syed. Clinical professor of medicine at the University of Louisville, School of Medicine, received the award "Muslim Contribution to Civilization.
Three-day celebration begins on Friday with a show devout Muslim woman. The event will conclude Sunday with several events, including a presntasi of "A Rose Among Thorns" (A rose among the thorns), a drama about the civil rights activist Rosa Parks, MNE, created and presented by actress Ella Joyce.
